Here's news of a stolen concertina from marionoughton@hotmail.com.
I
wonder if you can help me? My Wheatstone English concertina (serial number 27550), chrome ends, chrome buttons, black bellows, 6-sided, was stolen from my car in Yew Tree Lane in Northenden, south Manchester ( M23), on the evening of Friday October 19th. It was in a distinctive wooden box, light coloured wood, inlaid, with two women's symbols entwined on one face and some quavers on another face. I don't believe that the concertina was the aim of the thieves - two laptops were also stolen. But I hope that there might be a possibility that the thieves didn't throw it in a bin or in the canal, and that it might emerge for sale somewhere sometime

Mail sent around the 10, 11 and 12 November is still only just arriving but hopefully everyone has received their packages by now.

The first half of 2007 has been absolutely mad. I'm just back from researching at the Willie Clancy Summer School at Miltown Malbay, County Clare, Ireland. I learned a hell of a lot, met some really nice people and also got some pictures in Connemara for book covers. Apologies to anyone who has had an order delayed or not received a reply to a phone call or email due to this but this is what it's like in the festival season. There will be some pictures of the event in the photo gallery very soon.
All my books are back in print and there are now CDs available for every one, Evergreen CD arrived just before I went to Miltown. A furthur Irish session book is being prepared it's more or less finished but I'm holding it back until the CD is ready, 60 of the 100 tunes have been recorded so there will probably be a few changes before completion, hopefully by spring.
I've just completed a new bodhran book which should arrive any time now, the CDs arrived today.
I'll be at Sidmouth working with the Music Room so anyone who is going can catch up with me personally.
3rd February 2007
100 Essential Irish Session Tunes CD is now available. Unfortunately the Evergreen book is still out of print. The good news is 80 of the 100 tunes are recorded and the next recording session, booked for the 5th and 6th of March, will see that project completed. Amendments can then be made to the book and it should be back in print in the Spring.
9th January 2007
100 Essential Irish Session Tunes is now back in stock. The CD should be here very soon.
17th December 2006
Merry Christmas everyone! I'll be sending all orders out this week first class post. So, in theory, all UK orders this week, even as late as Friday, should arrive by Christmas. Essential book will arrive back in stock at the end of this week.
24th November 2006
Unfortunateley my best Irish books Essential and Evergreen are out of print. However Essential goes to the printers today and I have completed recording the soundtrack. So both book and sountrack should be available by the new year. Evergreen will take until the summer before it is available again, there will be a soundtrack. A further book and soundtrack in the series is also in the making.
17th November 2006
The warehouse move is finished, thank goodness.
11th November 2006
Hopefully next week I have to once more move warehouse to something much smaller and I need to reduce my stock drastically. Therefore you will find some brilliant bargains in my clearance section. I've been charging £1 towards the cost of posting UK orders now for about 10 years and I think increasing to £2 wouldn't be anything like extortionate; I will be charging £2 postage from 1st January. Get a Christmas bargain while you can.

At last, after about 8 years the site is fully up and running, although I've got stacks of info to add regarding my products. Loads more pictures have been added to the site of events I've attended over the summer.
8th November 2006
The drop down menus are all working now and all the links are up and running. Plenty of pictures are now on the site and more are on the way.
At
last the news pages are on the go
The main
piece of news is that, at last, I've got round to it.
The
site is at last being finished
I seem
to have got all the links sorted out now except the drop down
menus which are going awry, but they still work. Unfortunately
I don't have the skill to fix these myself.
New
books
I managed
to get several new books on the market, this summer. A new Irish book call 100 Vital Irish Session Tunes and three new English pub session books.
New
sountracks
Soundtracks
are completed for all the English pub session books and also
for Vital, Enduring and Polkas Irish books. I'm now working
very hard to record the soundtracks for Essential and Evergreen
by Easter.
